Supportive Music and Imagery
SMI sessions are held virtually on Zoom or in-person in Brighton
What is Supportive Music and Imagery?
Sessions are 60-75 minutes and 6-10 sessions in total
Be guided by Hannah to experience music and imagery to help with your wellbeing. The sessions are structured and include music listening and mark-making.
Supportive Music and Imagery can be very transformative, meaningful, and offer new perspectives in your life.
A piece of music is chosen to reflect a positive experience in your week or life.
Together, we listen to the music allowing the experience to deepen while you create imagery (art-making using oil pastels and paper, or materials of your choice).
The sessions incorporate relaxation and time to re-process the positive resource.
Where possible, you will learn to carry out SMI at home as a complement to meditation or journaling practices, for example.
SMI is for…
Those seeking a space to reflect and recharge
Those wanting to integrate an easy self-care practice into their weekly routine using music listening and art
Those wanting a way in to accessing therapy or those that have had therapy in the past
Your SMI therapist will work with you to create your musical library playlist, which you will be sent after each session.
You will need an A3 sketchbook and some art materials (such as oil pastels).
No music or art experience is necessary.
